-- OPEN MY EYES AND ITS AMAZING
Dislikes: pizza, fake girls, lies, false hope, being followed, his father, animal abusers, men who lie to women, slow cars, no-nonsense attitudes, losing games (sometimes)
Habits/Quirks:
- talks to animals - through his mind - when he's anxious
- is superstitious with the number 13, therefore avoids it if he can
Fears:
- losing his powers
- not finding the one (for him)
Secrets:
- was molested by his uncle when he was 7-10 years old
Personality: Owen - with all his luck, is the type of guy who is a girl's best friend, and he will fall in love with her, but she will never love him back. That's his life right there in a sentence. He's the boy-next-door, with the gentleman twist to him, where he'll open a door for a woman, even if he doesn't know her. Why not? It's not like his arms are broken, unless if one was, he'd still open it, usually with some help from his power as well, though only on Tatum. Owen takes to others kindly, he is always there to lend others a hand, and he will usually give someone the shirt off his back to help - unless of course he gets a weird vibe from them, or a dog nearby tells him not to, since dogs and cats sense that stuff. His mind really likes to think others don't care about him, and therefore he acts as he wants, though that isn't unruly, he just rarely talks. Yes, Owen is practically a mute, but his motto is, "I only speak when I have something to say." which he tends to spread around, though doesn't go preaching it.
He isn't very religious, though he is somewhat Catholic, with his father being a high-time Catholic, he tends to stray more towards just basic Christianity, that there's something else out there. Owen is sly too, he likes to twist words and either make a joke out of them, or just go with it, sometimes whipping out his sarcasm, a tool he uses a lot, especially if he likes someone, that and just cracking some jokes. If he gets uncomfortable or nervous, he suddenly cannot stop talking. It's quite amusing to watch him, but it's the truth, if he thinks someone is cute - this happened in high school too - he rambles on about something till he finally realizes it, or the person tells him - sometimes kindly - to calm down. Owen also has a passion for photography, and sells his photography to places that are willing to buy it, as well as...he will play for others, sometimes he can be seen carrying his guitar case around with him heading to play or just to take it with him to work.

Biography:
Rose was about 23-24 when she found out she was pregnant with her first child in Verona, Italy. She ran to her fiance at the time, Derek and told him the wonderful news. Thrilled, he proposed to her on the spot, and within 7 months, they were married, while she had a stomach on her, so that their child wouldn't need to worry about being a bast@rd child or anything. Rose happily remained in the house, taking care of herself, visiting her friends while she was pregnant, always careful not to drink or smoke, knowing her son would be a Chosen, and she just hoped he would be able to do something about his powers, especially since Derek was purely excited to have a son. Owen was born, his parents in the upper middle class, lower high class of society, and his mother stayed up with him during the nights the infant couldn't sleep, since Derek worked a lot as his job. Though, Owen adored his father - when he was around, he took a special liking towards both his parents very fast, and absolutely adored them, he still adores them, he just can't believe they didn't believe him year later. But that's for later.
As Owen grew, Rose raised him on Italian, but his father would speak to him in English. The poor kid. Owen hardly remembered which words were which as a child speaking to his parents, so finally, he just spoke in plain Italian to both of them, and only spoke English when he was practicing with his father on the weekends while his mother worked (since she didn't work on the weekdays to be home for him). Derek and Rose took Owen to his first day of 3rd grade, having home-schooled him till then, and they were surprised to find he got along quite well with all of the students, plus the teachers seemed to like him too. He was a well-behaved child, and never spoke out of terms, just like with his parents. Course, his childhood seemed picture-perfect, until his father fell ill, and they had to move to Washington D.C., where his uncle (a step uncle or a cousin of his parents, either way he grew up calling him uncle) happily took in the family of three, while Derek sought help from the doctors there for his illness. Owen didn't really understand about his father's illness, and always looked to his mother to find out why Dad wasn't around as much.
By the time Owen was 7, they moved back to Venice, since his father's illness had regressed. Turns out it was leukemia, but his mother didn't want to tell him. Finally, Derek told him that he would die in a few years, the doctors had given him a good three years, as long as he maintained his chemo here, in Italy. Encouraging his father, not wanting to lose him, Owen then had another family member move in with them, the 7-year-old met his uncle from D.C. who came to help with the house, since Derek only worked once in awhile, and his mother the weekends, Uncle Patrick wanted to aid in any way that was possible. He put Owen to work a lot, and Owen didn't mind, he knew it would help out his parents in the end, course, around the time he was 8, his Uncle started to molest the young boy. At first he didn't understand, and asked his father about it, but his father, knowing Owen could imagine things a lot, thought it had just been a dream. Uncle Patrick told him, that if he told his parents again, or attempted to, he'd kill him. Frightened, Owen withdrew into himself, while his Uncle continued to abuse him about one to three times every week or so, depending on when his father managed to go to work.
Course, as his father's health restored, when Owen was 10, they sent Uncle Patrick back to the States, and he gave Owen one last look, telling him if he ever told anyone, he'd hunt him down. (Course now he wishes he could) Owen promised himself he would never tell - till he told his father a few weeks before his death-bed, when Owen was 13. Not much happened in those two years, Owen attended school, excelled, and learned more English from his father while they were in and out of the hospital monthly for chemo and check-ups. Finally, the time had arrived when Owen was 13, his powers developed and showed themselves. He woke up, hearing a voice, but it wasn't of his father or his mother - they were both working this Friday. Curious, he explored the house, before soon noticing a squirrel right outside on their back porch, eating some squirrel food his mother always put out. "Food. So good. Keep food, get better." What was this? He had to be imagining it, someone was playing a trick, calling for his cousins, Quincy and Robert, but no one came. He then managed to respond, and the squirrel looked at him, appalled.
Frightened, Owen ran to his room, and slipped, crashing to the floor. Well - he almost hit the floor. Something, it felt like a force had caught him. Pausing, had he caught himself on something? Saving his face from being smashed? Brushing back his black hair, he then managed to stand up, and realized that also, his door was shut and locked. He hadn't locked it, had he? He called his mother, telling her to come home, something was happening. Worried, she came right home from the store (having been grocery shopping), and discovered her son with his headphones on, music blaring, him grasping his temple, freaked. Calming him, she explained it was his powers, they were manifesting, they were gifts. No they weren't, they were hell. How could he make the voices stop? At first she thought he had telepathy, but he explained only animals, and turns out, he could control and communicate with animals, make them do his bidding.
Owen never really used his powers, even when he picked up the guitar shortly after wards, having been playing the piano since he was 9. Playing the piano and guitar, Owen was thrilled as he got to play for people at church and such, until they moved to the States, as Derek, his father, about a month after Owen's 15th birthday, died. Shattered, Owen became a recluse to his room, and a few days later, his mother came home, covering his eyes and telling him to reach out with his powers. Nothing seemed to stick out in his mind for telekinesis, so he tried his animal control. Stunned, he then beamed and opened his eyes to see an Australian Shepherd puppy there, with one blue eye, and one green eye, his favorite breed of dog. Beaming, he eagerly took the dog in, caring for it, and training her well, speaking with her.
By that time, Tatum had called him. Receiving the brochure, Owen happily came here for schooling. Here, he brought along Roxy, his Shepherd, and here he bought an apartment that - fortunately - allows animals, and he proved they would all stay quiet, though his power probably helped too. Owen happily has remained here for schooling, and now that he's graduated, he's planning on staying here, most likely for awhile, till he decides exactly what's going to happen. But there's good jobs here, once he finishes his classes online with Michigan University, he'll have his degree. By the time he was 18 and graduating, his mother sent him an invitation to her wedding to Frank Matlock. Frowning, Owen wasn't a big fan of this, but he went, leaving Roxy and his sugar gliders, Kalypso and Trinity - he didn't name them, he rescued them with those names - with a good friend of his. Going to Arizona for the wedding, Owen remained there for awhile, before returning here to graduate in two months, and since then, he's been here, taking classes, and since then his animal collection has expanded. Guess what his major is? Pre-vet.
