So now, it seems,

The Bermuda Triangle has been the center of rumors and myths of disappearing ships, planes, and people for a very long time. No one really knows what goes on in the area between Miami, Bermuda, and Puerto Rico. No one really knows that none of these people disappear off the face of the earth completely. No one really knows about Tatum Island.

Let's face it, you've always known you were a little, well, special. Okay, more than a little. You can read minds, or you can control them. You can create illusions or predict the future, or you can even manipulate the weather. You're a danger to humanity, actually. But you're not a human. You're a Chosen.

What is a Chosen, you may ask? Well, a Chosen is basically a different breed of human. No, you're not going to start sucking blood or craving raw meat. You will not sparkle in the sunlight. You are NOT a vampire. A Chosen has altered DNA, that is passed down through generations but only occasionally activated, which gives them superhuman abilities, or powers, if you will. If you have children with another Chosen, your children WILL have powers, guarenteed. Chosens develop their powers at thirteen, no sooner and no later. You'll have up to two powers, though the rare occasion comes along there's someone with three. You'll have to practise to master your powers, and the range of power you have is unpredictable. Any way you look at it, you can't be in the normal world anymore. Something has to be done.

Enter the Society: An organization put in charge to look for and rescue Chosens, and bring them to the safe haven of Tatum Island. They oversee the operations of the town, but no one really knows who they are. All we know is that they're EXTREMELY powerful. They keep the island invisible and untouchable. They control the climate, making it possible to have beaches that rival the Carribean in some parts, and ski slopes that could put Whistler to shame in others. You still have your typical American currency and such, but you're not in America anymore.

So how do they get you here? They stick you on a 'Sweepstakes Vacation' or do whatever it takes to get you on a boat or plane in the Bermuda Triangle. Then you disappear off the map. Don't worry, your family will be informed. However, considering there are some humans on board, you're not alone. Humans do live on the island, they're just not allowed to tell anyone anything. They're at a disadvantage, in a way. Of course, you're allowed to leave the island periodically, to visit family as a teenager. But until you graduate high school, you may not use your powers outside of the safety of Tatum. The Society will know, and they will bring you back, and there will be consequences. Once you've mastered your powers, however, you may come and go as you please. It'll just always be safer in Tatum.

You need safety because there are hunters. Hunters who wish to destroy the Chosens. The rare few humans that believe you're a disgrace to the world. They're merciless, and they know how to kill. Tatum is the only place you're truly safe from these people, unless one happens to make their way onto the island...

So, who's ready for a vacation?
